You Can Have It ALL!

September 26, 2009

Many years ago, William Walker Atkinson, Richard Ingalese, Opheil and many others, have written books on the power of the mind to attract what one thinks about, and these books are still popular and available nowadays at bookstores. Other known authors are Joseph Murphy, Napoleon Hill and Wallace.D.Wattle. Later, Shakti Gawain wrote a book on the subject and popularized the term “Creative Visualization”.

All of these books are about what is now termed “The law of attraction”.  As you see, it is not a new subject, but due to the media, it became a “hot” subject today.  If you look around in bookstores, the Internet, TV and the newspapers, you will find many new books and articles on this subject budding every day.  This brings to mind the well-known phrase, “there is nothing new under the sun”.  It is the same subject with a different name.

So, Visualize and Achieve!

Discover how the law of attraction and the power of your thoughts can make your dreams and goals come true!

Tip to Losing Weight

September 16, 2009

We have all heard and/or read articles on losing weight.  There are so many different diet plans that promise weight loss.  This little article is not trying to scrutinize or endorse any weight loss program.  It is merely to state or reemphasize what we all have been told, read or heard when we were young.  Chew your food slowly, eat smaller portions, and don’t snack at night.

So with that said, here are 6 tips to help you lose weight.  More will be posted at a later date, so keep checking back every so often.  I thank you!

1).  Lose weight for yourself, not to please your husband, your parents or your friends.

2).  Make the kitchen off-limits at any time other than mealtime.

3).  Always eat at the table, never in front of the TV set or with the radio on.

4).  Concentrate on eating every mouthful slowly and savoring each morsel.

5).  Chew everything from 10 to 20 times and count!

6).  Never skip meals. (This is perhaps the most important low carb diet tip at all.
If you skip a meal, it signals to your body that it may need to store fat in case the next
meal does not come soon. You can actually lose more weight by eating each low carb
meal in the day rather than skipping one, believe it or not.)

STRESS, Pt. I

September 14, 2009
Leadership is STRESS!

Leadership is STRESS!

Gooooooooood Morning to all;

Today is the 14th day of the 9th month in the 9th year of the new millenium.  Isn’t that just incredible.  How far we have come as a society and yet we still try to handle other people’s problems and burdens without taking the time to help ourselves.

Today I would like to discuss a worldwide epidemic of astronomical proportions.   I have seen the the effects of stress and have experienced the devastating incompassatation that it can cause.  Stress is a major factor in the thousands of heart attacks that happen everyday on this little blue planet we call home.

Let’s start at the beginning and ask the question, So, just what is STRESS?

STRESS is not an event, it’s our perception of the event.  Whether it is your family life, work environment, social life or personal life, no one ever reaches a point where they are no longer confronted with challenges and these challenges will cause stress.

If you suddenly found yourself with no challenges, that in and of itself would be a major challenge because you would need to find something meaningful, some direction for your life.

Not only is stress inevitable with life’s challenges, but it is essential for fulfillment.  A challenge can be a positive form of stress or a negative form of stress depending on how you perceive it and deal with it.

Allow yourself to be the musical instrument in the orchestra of life and by that I mean you have stress in your daily life, there is no getting away from that.  But take the guitar for instance.  Without tension on the strings, the guitar cannot make music and too much tension can break the strings.  Allow just enough tension to make beautiful music in the symphony of life.

Here are a few things a person can do to help relieve the tension that daily life’s stress puts on a person and I will talk on some of these topics in another post.

1).  Know your stress signals

2).  Know the cause of your stress

3).  Control the controllable

4).  Cope with stress you can’t control

5).  Exercise

6).  Laugh Loud, Laugh Long, Laugh often

7).  Meditate/Pray

8).  Network with support groups.  (You are not alone)

The Ohio Mental Health Association says to use “GUTS” or “Get Underway, Try Something”.

C.S. Lewis wrote a passage in “Letter to an American Lady” and this is great advice for avoiding undue stress.

“We must try to take life moment by moment.  The actual present is usually pretty tolerable, I think, if only we refrain from adding to its burden that of the past and the future.  How right our Lord is about sufficient to the day!”

Keep checking in for more on STRESS!

DID U KNOW?

June 26, 2009

You should use care when cleaning wallpaper. According to handyman-wire.com, you should never clean old wallpaper with water. Why, probably because the wallpaper will absorb through the paper and into the wall and then cause the wallpaper to loosen from the wall.

Try a dry sponge or a 5 by 7 inch pad of virgin rubber about an inch thick that works like a giant eraser.

For stubborn spots like crayon and wax, try using a steel wool pad and rub gently, followed by a dry cleaning solvent.

Use abrasive cleaners only as a last resort. Read the directions of the abrasive cleaners carefully to avoid any problems.

Female Health Questions and Female Health Concerns

By : David Lee Buster

Whether your female health questions are on early signs of menopause or how to reduce PMS symptoms, you can find answers online to important female health questions.Busy women today have to keep up with their career, money issues and family. There is hardly time to prepare meals and care for the children and/or partner before and after work hours. Most women in the western industrialized countries become involved with career and family in their late twenties and early thirties. As responsibilities grow, women will typically experience a great deal of stress and have female health concerns.Along with increased stress may come excessive caffeine or alcohol consumption, sleepless nights, cigarette smoking, lack of exercise, birth control pills, poor nutrition choices, obesity and exposure to the many environmental toxins found in daily life. These lifestyle choices add to the female health problems instead of helping the body to cope with the many demands placed on it.

It is no wonder that many women have female health concerns and begin experiencing health symptoms that make them wonder what is going on and to look for answers to questions such as the following:

Female Health Questions #1 – How Can I Have More Energy and Feel Better?

Lack of energy may be from overexertion or it may be your body telling you that it needs to rest. Anyone can feel tired occasionally. However, constantly feeling fatigued can be a symptom of disease or bodily imbalance and can occur at any age. It may be the first sign that your body is not working as it should and something should be done.

Female Health Questions #2 – Why Am I Gaining Weight?

Weight gain probably means you have gained unwanted weight around the mid-section even though no changes have been made in eating habits. Daily calories might have even been reduced but still the weight remains. Again the logical question is “Why?”

Female Health Questions #3 – Why Am I Having Hot Flashes/Night Sweats?

About half of all women experience hot flashes and night sweats during the years as changes happen in the monthly menstrual cycle. As menopause approaches, they frequently continue for several years following menopause if not treated. With the major changes in the body’s hormones, the brain thinks your body temperature is changing which causes your nervous system to want to cool your body down. Fluctuating hormone levels are the #1 cause.

Female Health Questions #4 – Why Is My Hair Thinning?

Women experience thinning hair and even hair growth in the wrong places. There are various treatments like changing your hair style or using a shampoo and conditioner that makes your hair fuller. However, instead of purchasing female hair loss products, a woman should first look for the underlying causes that are related to hormone imbalance.

Female Health Questions #5 – Can I Find Online Information on These and Related Health Issues?

Yes! A woman should understand what are normal changes in her reproductive cycle and health and what symptoms indicate underlying hormonal imbalances or damage from poor eating habits, stress and other factors. And the health problems you may be having can definitely be related!

A woman with female health concerns should know which symptoms she has. And how mild or severe are those symptoms? What are you demanding of your body? Are you frequently stressed? Are you taking prescription drugs? What about caffeine and alcohol? What support are you giving your body? What do you eat and are you taking a high-quality women’s nutritional supplement? And what is your age? Your age is important because you need to compare your health with other women your age.

Find out more about your health, the symptoms you may have, what these symptoms mean and your options. There is an online test for hormone health related to symptoms that indicate hormones are out of balance. This health test has been developed by a leading womens health clinic, it is used in their practice every day and is available to women online at no cost.

If you are a woman in your thirties or older and you feel your health is not what it should be, get answers to your female health questions by taking the womens health test online and see what the clinic recommends for your health situation. Understanding what is healthy and normal and what is not is crucial when your energy, your health and well-being are at stake.

My Accident

June 25, 2009

Goooooooooood Morning everyone.

How are you today?  It’s bright and cheery here in Southern PA and I am writing to ask all of you  what do you think I should do about my hand.

In case some of you didn’t know it, I was involved in a head on collision back in October, 2008.  Now to give you a little background info about myself.  I am a massage therapist and I work with a chiropractor in a little town about 19 miles east of where I live.

I have been working with him sincec 2003.  I have recently been informed that I have to have hand surgery to repair a torn tendon and damaged ligaments .  I am scheduled to have surgery on July 9th.  I am hoping to be able to come back to massage, but if I can’t what do you think I should do.  Massage is my passion and my life.  I love to study it, read about it, research it and teach it.

Waiting to hear from everyone out there.  Any suggestions are welcome within reason. LOL!

Thanking you in advance.  C U Later!

Shiatsu Massage

June 4, 2009

Greetings people of the stress filled environment;

Today is the first day of the rest of your life!  Did U know that?  You may have dreams and goals and aspirations, but all that can be cut off quick, even the blinking of an eye.  So, today really is the first day of the rest of your life!

Anyway, enough philosophizing!  I want to talk with you about Shiatsu Massage Therapy.  It’s not really what you think massage should be, but it does the body good.

There are many different courses that teach Shiatsu, all with the same foundation, but different teachings and styles.  I have incorporated Shiatsu into my practice and the clients love it.  So, sit back and listen and watch a little video that I found that explains Shiatsu and demonstrates it quite nicely.

Hold all your questions until you have watched the video.  Then if you have any questions, you can contact me at ktamassagetherapy@yahoo.com, subject “The Massage Professor”

Thank you!

Just copy and paste the link below into your browser and watch the video.
