The “POWER” of massage

Filed under: Health, Uncategorized — themassageprofessor @ 3:58 pm

You have heard the saying, “NO PAIN, NO GAIN”. Well, I believe that statement to be a bit archaic. Why? Because massage is supposed to be a means of healing, not inflicting pain and torture as some clients refer to it.

Don’t get me wrong, there are times when therapeutic massage will hurt, however every effort should be taken to minimize the pain the client feels. Take the time to loosen the tight muscles, apply heat where it’s needed and stretch out those muscles that need lengthened so that they are well prepared for deeper work.

I believe that there are good massage therapists and there are bad massage therapists and last but not least there are “GREAT” massage therapists. What do I consider a good massage therapist? A good massage therapist is one who has been trained in several different modalities and has been doing massage for at least 3 years.

However, let me tell what I believe a “GREAT” massage therapist is. A “GREAT” massage therapist is one who has the training and the experience but also possesses a strong desire to heal, retains a knowledge that there are stronger “POWERS” at work than just his/her own and has intense commitment to the client they are working on. Healing is performed by the client’s own body.

I believe that being a “GREAT” massage therapist by the above definition allows the massage therapist to be an instrument or catalysts of healing, allowing the massage therapist to be more productive and more effective than the average or “good” massage therapist.

“TOUCH” is such a primitive and basic “KNEAD” for all people, even those who hate to be touched. Touch is important to the well being of our body’s, our minds, our spirits.

It might seem that massage therapy is a simple kind of art form. You pay someone to rub your arms, legs, back and neck and then you walk out of the office feeling great from the inside out. That is how simple I want you to feel in what is provided at “Kneading Tyme” Associates.

Do not confuse the simplicity of that statement with the therapist because the therapist must be well trained in the various modalities and continue to study the art of massage in order to provide better service for you, the client.

Check out my web site for prices and other services. I look forward to hearing from you.
